Rubbing your eyes or pinching your arm doesn't change things: you really are seeing it.
Eccentric and noisy bikes racing as fast as greased lightning. All competing against the stopwatch in the midst of helicopters and airplanes. After all, if you are racing at Volandia, the aviation museum overlooking Malpensa Terminal 1, it's hardly surprising to find yourself surrounded by aircraft of all kinds.
It's either the air of the museum, or the old Officine Caproni in the background or the vintage motorcycles that give the idea of being in a time bubble. The scenery is akin to the Burning Man, but the atmosphere is more like a meeting between old friends united by a healthy passion: a saddle, two wheels and a track in front of their eyes.
When the engines are not roaring, good old-school Rock n 'Roll breaks the silence and, leaving nothing to chance, speakers and consoles are placed inside an elegant and showy Airstream.
When you find yourself at a Deus Swank Rally the only thing you have to do is enjoy the moment: at every corner you stumble across a unique bike and you should expect the unexpected from one minute to the next - you can never rest in the midst of the Swankers.
It's hardly even a surprise when at the end of the day the winner emerging from the dust is Adelio Lorenzin. corkscrew hair, dazzling smile and here he is, receiving the prize under a WWII fighter like a good soldier.

Stropicciarsi gli occhi o pizzicarsi un braccio non cambia le cose: è così, come lo vedi.
Moto che scheggiano veloci, eccentriche e rumorose. Tutte che gareggiano contro il tempo scandito dai cronometri, tra elicotteri e aerei. Del resto quando corri dentro Volandia, il museo dell'aviazione affacciato sul Terminal 1 di Malpensa, non è poi così sorprendente ritrovarsi circondato da velivoli di ogni genere.
Sarà l'aria del museo, le ex Officine Caproni alle spalle o le moto vintage, ma la sensazione è di essere in una bolla fuori dal tempo.
Lo scenario ha qualcosa di simile al Burning Man, ma l'atmosfera è più vicina ad un incontro tra vecchi amici uniti da una sana passione: una sella, due ruote e un tracciato davanti agli occhi.
Quando non sono i motori a rombare, del buon Rock n' Roll vecchia scuola rompe il silenzio e, per non lasciare niente al caso, casse e console sono posizionate dentro un elegantissimo e appariscente Airstream.
Quando ti ritrovi ad un Deus Swank Rally l'unica cosa che devi fare è goderti il momento: ad ogni angolo troverai una moto unica e da un minuto all'altro potrebbe succedere l'imprevedibile, non si sta mai tranquilli in mezzo agli Swankers.
Che poi a fine giornata il vincitore emerso dalla polvere risulterà essere Adelio Lorenzin non è quasi più una sorpresa. Criniera boccoluta, sorriso smagliante ed eccolo ricevere il premio sotto un caccia della seconda guerra mondiale come un bravo soldato.
